A large proportion of our work is made up of commercial work; covering various types of crop and pasture spraying, fire fighting, fire lighting, forestry contract work and frost protection to vineyards around the Hawkes Bay region, to name a few.

We are an established provider of tactical fire support services to the Hawkes Bay Rural Fire Authority providing:

• Spotting and Reconnaissance
• Controlled Burn offs
• Firemen and Equipment Transportation

Frost Protection

We have been providing frost protection in the Hawkes Bay region for a number of years.

Although all of our local aircraft are permanently contracted, we provide a regularly updated database of external aircraft availability. All externally supplied aircraft and personnel shall be qualified, certified and experienced in frost fighting and VFR night rated with a current Commercial Helicopter Licence as per CAA requirements.

All contracted aircraft/pilots shall provide air to ground communications and means of outside air temperature determination.

It is the responsibility of the pilot in command of the aircraft to ensure they are operating safely at all times. To achieve this the vineyard or orchard will need to provide:

• An unobstructed landing site adjacent to the block with suitable illumination, and allow the pilot time (during daylight hours) for aerial reconnaissance of the block to determine its boundaries and any hazards there may be.
• Suitable accommodation to allow sufficient rest prior to the frost protection.

We're often called upon for farm maintenance covering fencing general lifting and relief for stranded stock.

We also contract to the major power supply companies for pylon erection, wire stringing and line survey.
